The Staff

 

Bill Davison started the Running Center in 1999 with 20 years of experience in sales in the sporting goods industry. Bill has been an award-winning sales representative for such companies as New Balance, Champion, Wilson, and Frank Shorter. Bill has participated in local races for over 20 years and has run many local events. Bill’s experience includes helping other top technical running stores in the state develop their business. In 2007 Bill completed pedorthic school and has become a Certified Pedorthist. Bill is dedicated to building a running store where anybody interested in the activity of running or walking not only gets the best shoe for his/her foot but also gets the best information on all aspects of the sport, from clothing to accessories.

Store Manager 

Dustin Hicks is a central Florida native whose passion for running began when he ran the mile on field day at his elementary school. He continued on competitively running track and cross country for Oviedo High School and the University of Central Florida. Upon graduating his new running addiction has been the marathon completing eight of them, including Boston, Chicago, Jacksonville, and Twins Cities.

Over the last six years he has worked at several top running stores around the country gaining knowledge and experience to help each customer find the right gear while encouraging all to lead an active lifestyle like himself.

 Heather Tinsley is a former cross country and track athlete for USF; she competed in the 3k and 5k events. After her running career was over she stayed involved with USF as a volunteer assistant coach with cross country and track for 2 seasons. Heather has been working at the Running Center since August of 2011 and has an extensive knowledge in health and nutrition. In December of 2013 she graduated from USF with a BS in Public Health and is looking forward to getting her MSPH in Epidemiology. Currently her training is focused on cycling and competing in the Florida road cycling series.

 Bill S - Bill has worked at The Running Center for 9 years. He has participated in every distance from a 5K to running the Boston Marathon. In addition Bill is a high school track and cross country coach and race director.

Ian July is currently attending The University of South Florida, where is he studying physical education. His goal is to one day coach a competitive college cross country team. After he ran cross country and track for several years in high school he joined the USF Running Club and competes in several road races every year. Ian has been working at the Running Center since August 2013 and has great training on sports injuries and training methods.

The Running Center promotes a healthy and active lifestyle through a continuous commitment to community involvement, steady growth and achieving sales goals.

Community Involvement

The Running Center has collected over 1000 pairs of reusable running shoes for the homeless. The Running Center also has helped many charities by providing race numbers, gift certificates and professional race administration advice. We continue to be a location for race registration and race information for the entire Tampa Bay area.Anyone having a usable pair of shoes or race tee shirts, please drop them off at our store and we will get it to a homeless facility.
